Snowy Saturday Morning

It is Saturday Sharing Day over at Pigtales and Quilts  http://www.pigtalesandquilts.com/ --wander over see what Thearica has been up to, and what others are doing.  Wonderful way to get some fabulous inspiration!

We woke up to this:

Sorry about picture I took it through a window.

This meant that DH had to get up, go plow, and salt the elderly aunt and uncle's drive, and porch next door.

What did I do this morning?  I made my beautiful little sister a gift for her Birthday which was a couple of days ago.
http://www.noodle-head.com has a wonderful tutorial on how to make these bags, and she has multiple sizes too!  Search for the:  open wide zippered pouch:  DIY Tutorial

Then I placed some of my favorite quilting tools inside that I had purchased her.  Unfortunately it is too late to go to the post office so it will not be sent until Monday.

What am I going to do for the rest of my Saturday?

I have a country charmer block to make
jewel box block
Quilty Barn along block to make

The above are my weekly goals which I have left.  I did finish two Farmer's Wife Blocks earlier:

And my big finish was my picnic quilt that is an ancient UFO!

Then there is:
the Hugs and Kisses QAL from Christa Quilts that I am working on
The Quiltmaker Magazine Lazy Sunday Mystery
City Streets Mystery from Quilter's Club of America

Final border for my Ginger Rose.

I really wanted to get my Easy Street sandwiched, but the quilting gods are working against me.  Last night while DH and I were in Joann's to pick up fabric for the City Streets Mystery, a zipper and thread I looked for a King sized bat of Warm and White.  There were none, not even any rolls.  I can order it on line, but I can't use my 40% off coupon and free shipping doesn't really compute.  Savings of over $21 with a coupon of $12 for free shipping.  OK enough of my rant.

It is National Quilting Day today!  Don't forget to check out Pigtales and Quilts for Saturday Sharing Day, and, do something quilty!

  1. I just love how you always start your post out with an awesome shout out for the linky party. :)

I want to make one of those zippered pouches! I was off to the post office with orders from my website this morning but an unexpected visitor met me on the front steps as I opened the door to leave.... so I didn't make it either. There is always Monday. :)
