Veteran's Day

Good Monday morning, and don't forget to be thankful to those that gave their lives for our freedom. I don't know if I would say Happy Veteran's Day.  Today I am thankful for all of those men and women that have served in the Armed Forces to protect our freedom.  My great grandfather served in WWI from what I understand.  My mother owns the gas mask they gave him.  DH's father served in WWII in Europe, and several of my great uncles served during WWII also.  My father was in the Coast Guard, and one of my distant cousins recently lost his life in Afghanistan.  Pet peeve-- in the State of Michigan they do not celebrate or commemorate Veteran's Day, they choose to instead have the first day of hunting season as a holiday.  (Rolling eyes)

Last night after before I finished up in the sewing room I laid out the parts for my Country Charmer.  I had been claiming I only had 4 blocks done.  Well I lied, I actually had 5 blocks done!
Yep there they are all laid out, and actually in baggies labeled with the part letter.
I then put all the parts out on my cutting table in piles.  And promptly decided I needed more green.  I dug through my stash and came up with lots of green, just not the exactly color of green I had in mind.  I have lots of gray greens, lime greens, but nothing really what I was looking for except for some homespun.  Some future stash enhancement may be necessary.

After I quit digging I laid out one block, and put it together.

Proof I have 6.  Looking at the one with the gold wondering what was I thinking, and do I have any more gold colored fabrics to add to my blocks?

Hopefully your Monday was more successful than mine in the sewing room.

  1. oops, I think my comment disappeared into cyberspace. Sorry if this is a repeat, but what I said was that I love the gold and think maybe a couple more would work really well with your greens and reds.
