Design Wall Faux Pas

I will admit the male animal and their habits at times eludes me.  I raised 3 daughters so when the grandsons came along I could not get over how different they were compared to the girls (quit laughing, I am not talking about the anatomy part!).

Boys are much more clingy.  Wherever you are, they have to be right there too!  My girls could go off and play by themselves. When the little boys are around, more than likely they are laying on you, touching you, asking you to play a game, watch a movie with them, they are hungry, they need you to go outside with them to play, or they are doing something to me.  Not DH, me!  An example:  While I am cooking breakfast for them, Finn is picking up fuzzies and attaching them to my behind.

The kids came to spend the night and as we were getting them ready for bed- since there are so many of them the lone girl gets the room with the single bed, and the boys were going to sleep in the big bed, plenty of room for all of them.  That is the room with my design wall.  Now there are have been overnight stays using that bed by them.  Not one of them touched the design wall.  Until Finn!  My design wall went from this.

To this the moment I told him "NO!"
He grabbed the fleece, gave it a huge shake, and blocks flew off onto the floor willy nilly!  And while the little buggar was doing it he smiled at me and laughed.

What is worse?  I didn't have a full picture of the layout.  Just a partial!  As you can see from the picture above.

I put the blocks back up....after Finn left,  and made sure I took complete pictures.  Yes I know there is a missing block it is down on my cutting table.

Lesson learned?  Always take a complete picture of my design wall.  Instead of telling Finn no, grab him and just remove him from the area.  The moment I tell him "no" he smiles, and does whatever he is up to and then laughs.

  4. Glad I don't have grandkids yet. Trying to move the 100lb dog from between me and the cutting table, etc, is enough at this point.

  5. Oh, crap. I'm glad you got it back up, but that sounds right. Boys are stinkers. I have a daughter (3) and son (1) and that boy does things that my daughter never would have DREAMED of doing. And I repremand him and he laughs! And he is SUPER clingy. I'm exhausted! Hahaha. You're a good grandma for sitting them, though ❤ good for you, it's a lot of freakin work! Hahah

  8. this is why I take down all my stuff on my design wall, hide my scissors, rotary cutters etc--(which I will be doing today, by the way!) as when my two granddaughters are around--they don't break anything but have to pick up things, bring them to me and go "Ohhh, Look, Grand'mere?? what is this?" I raised one boy and one girl myself and the boy was definitely the cuddlier of the two..who knew?? Glad you got your blocks back up in order--what a nightmare...hugs, Julierose P.S. but you have to love em anyway....
