Doing A Little Sewing

Nice days I have been outside working in the yard.  Pulling weeds (I have a lot of thistle) planting flowers, every time I get ready to til the garden, it pours for a couple of days in a row and it doesn't get done. But the rain brings some positives.  I have been doing a lot of sewing.

I had stalled out on my temperature quilt about 4 days into April.  I now have April, May, and up until the 9th of June.  It is nice to see the yellow and light greens.

I needed to get my block for the Friendship Block group at guild done.  I am behind one month, but hopefully I will get caught up after our meeting Thursdays.

I also worked on my bee blocks.  Both the June, and July Queen Bees chose the same pattern and color palette.  Navy, Kona White, and orange.  These are 2 blocks.

The block is called Alpine.

I have also been working on this quilt again.
I have 2 more rows to finish piecing and then need to cut the 8 rows and sew them together.  I am on a mission.  I want to get this finished.

I have had some fiber acquisitions.

I ordered this bundle of Swell Christmas by Urban Chiks for Moda quite a while back.

This very cute panel.  With a couple of matching fabrics.

I also bought some more black on white, and white on blacks.  I could not resist these.

The mountains, tents, deer.
Snails, butterflies, a fox face.
The sweet sleepy animals.

As to getting something in the mail which had been ordered a long while back.

I just loved this.

Recently during a blog hop I won this beautiful scissors charm.

  1. Wow you busy girl. You can come help in my garden if you like. My weeds are growing lol. So many fun projects.

  2. I LOVE how your temp quilt is moving along--and your Alpine is is only 52 windy and cold degrees here this morning...10 whole degrees colder than the last three days..brrr..heat on AGAIN.
    hugs, enjoy the sewing Julierose

  3. rainy day today for sure, you have some good projects coming along as well as several fun projects to be :) Weeding is the worst tho...I am not a fan, blah!

  4. You have great progress there to show for your efforts. Some wonderful projects and pretty new fabrics. Yummy!

  5. I love the cute camping blacks and whites. You've been busy. While it has been cooler, I've pulled everything out of my sewing room closet (largest walk in closet in the house) and have been trying to organize it.

  6. You always have such fun fabric things going on. I just bought a black and white bundle with a bear on it, but it's different from yours. You'll probably finish yours before me...or maybe not! :O)

    1. I don't even have an idea for the black and white, but I just loved it. Obviously I have no self control.

  7. A mix of rainy days and fine ones is great for getting both sewing and gardening done :-) I do like your fbre acquisitions - some lovely yumminess there! My temperature quilt is even more behind than yours but at least I have my fabrics.... Those bee blocks are really cool plus good to see you back on to your 'ribbon' (?) quilt- it's going to be amazing!

  8. That's a lot of sewing. What a cute black and white fabric.

Thanks for dropping in to visit.
