Super Late and Quick I Like Thursday Post #182

I should almost feel ashamed for calling this I Like Thursday and call it sliding into Friday post.

It has been a hectic week.  The new baker quit that works days, the other person is hurt and on leave until further notice and I am trying to cover my shift and the day shift too---factor in the evening person calling in at least 1-2 times a week.  I am tired, cranky, and the weather has turned cold.

Poor Bobbin probably feels abandoned because my days off I am getting up at 4 am to go into work even.  Since the weather turned cold I thought it was time for a warm jacket for "The Bobs"

She's not a fan of the hat.  I tried to explain, but it has ear holes!  Can you tell she isn't amused?

My reading this week was finishing up this series until the last book released.  The books are not in order but it is the Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery by Tonya Kappes.

The next book in the series doesn't come out until December.  These books are all around 200 pages which translates to about 5 hours of a speech to text book reading at 1.5 speed.  I wondered are these novellas instead of novels.  Interesting all the different opinions short story, novella, novel, and even novelette---  short story up to 7,500 words, novelette 7,500- 17,500, novella 17,500-40,000 and novel 40,000 +.

Thanks LeeAnna for encouraging us to find things we like/love to share during the week, even if the week is less than stellar in our neck of the woods. Now head over to LeeAnna's and check out the other I Like Thursday posts.

  1. better late than never. Bobbin is not amused. She thinks that hat makes her invisible to getting treats!
No Milo does not like banana, nor apple, nor cranberries but he will overlook that when they are baked into cakes. He now knows the word cake.

  6. I think it's awful the way the workforce has been so decimated. I'm sorry you're feeling the pinch but it looks like Bobbins is feeling your pain! Ha! Hope this week goes a bit better for you & the pup!

  7. Hi Colette! {{Hugs}} a bunch for you for being overworked and for poor Bobbin. Seriously?!! She HATES the hat, she's never going to wear, and most of all, she's insulted that you thought she would like it. I went to the store to pick up a loaf of bread and instantly thought of you. Someone was behind the counter, decorating a cake. There was NO BREAD to be had because there wasn't a night baker. The worker shortages are real. I am so, so sorry. I was annoyed about the bread but I'm not trying to handle covering all those shifts. I hope you are able to sleep well at least. ~smile~ Roseanne

  8. That work situation is unsustainable. You need to be proactive in protecting your physical and mental health.
Of course there's not much we can do about the weather, but I'm sick of being cold already, too. Be well and stay safe.

  9. Bobbin looks cute but I'm sure she misses you. I certainly know what it's like when people don't show up at work. So glad that's over for me! You should try to rest more. You can't do everyone's job. I hope that ends soon for you.

  12. I'm late too this week. It only took a couple of outings to throw me off my schedule, not a rightful excuse like you, Colette. Meanwhile, love Bobbin's photo of her not exactly loving the hat.
