I Like Thursday #27

Well I have a late start, but better late than never.

Welcome to my I like Thursday post #27.  It isn't that  I don't have any likes, it is just I have been working in the yard (a lot) and getting the swimming pool up and going for the summer.  So here we go, cause I am burning daylight!

I like charity and volunteer work.  Today I will be baking lots of cookies for Relay for Life (one of the reasons I am tardy).  I also am the head of charity for my quilt guild, and I work on charity quilts for church also.

This was a top that had been turned in and it had a seam that had split.

I like making cookies for a good cause and others.

I like this snail I found up in the mountains where I was traveling.  They were all over my family cemetery.

After being around Michigan rivers I forget how truly breath taking wild rivers from my homeland are.

Now head over to LeeAnna's at Not Afraid of Color to check out the other I Like Thursday posts.

  3. I can feel the waters in your shots. The powerful rush of water creates some kind of ion that renews us. Water carves out rocks!

    1. I think that the clear, wild water does it for me. Not like the rivers around here. Too much human intervention.

  4. That's a fun selection of likes. Those cookies look delicious- I remember my mom making cookies with peanut butter cups in them, but I haven't had them in years. So cool that you coordinate all the charity quilts, I have a couple more tops I need to get quilted up to donate, they seem to pile up....

    1. Oh those cookies were so easy. Peanut butter cookie dough mix, and mini peanut butter cups. I try to keep busy, and doing for others is always easier than doing for yourself.

    1. Thank you. I am terrible at taking pictures. The snails were so cool, and when I looked up from where that one was, I realized it had a great view of the river. I decided that is where Our tombstone was going to sit. I actually placed my cell phone with the compass app going down in that exact spot. I hope so. I was told to make them, bag them in ziplocs. I have 4 batches of cookie dough in the fridge chilling right now.

    1. Thank you I was trying to figure out how to fix it, and that is the only thing that came to mind. Those cookies are super simple. Peanut butter cookie mix and mini peanut butter cups in those mini muffin pans. My trip was awesome. Haven't been to my ancestral lands in almost 20 years.

    1. I decided it is too hot to make those. But I didn't have any pics of my cookies I was making. I made a double batch of chocolate chip/butterscotch oatmeal cookies, a double batch of snickerdoodles, and a double batch of chocolate chips. When you go shopping....peanut butter cookie mix, and mini peanut butter cups. I can't remember all you add but they are yummy.

  8. Hi Colette,
Those cookies look super duper good. YUM! I would love to have a few, and I am sure that the Relay folks will enjoy them very much. That is so nice of you to make them. Those rivers look so beautiful and powerful. And snails are so good for the garden, aren't they? Well not all plants I guess. Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Thank you. I am busy making cookies still. The rivers I love especially when most of them here are kind of blah looking. I don't know about snails, but those are in the forest, I thought they were pretty.

  10. love rivers to, the Smokies has some cool ones. When we were there in our honeymoon room years ago 21 nearly, we had a private porch on the river, and People would get in the river in their clothes , get wet then lather up and dip again.

  14. Mountain rivers are the very best. Coming from Alberta, I know that very well. I peeked at your previous post so I know you were in California! Man I could do with a pool like last week already! We're putting one in this new place, but probably won't be until next year.

    1. I thought the snail was awesome, these are in the family cemetery in the mountains. I decided that one marked the spot where our headstone is going to be. I finished over 16 dozen cookies and took them to church for their relay for life booth.

  18. I'm catching up on blog reading, so, this will cover several blog posts (sorry). Kelli Fannin has written lots of great patterns. I've followed her blog for many years (when she started writing patterns). I could have provided you with several different white on black fabrics (if we were closer). Most of mine are sewing themed.
