I Like Thursday #48

Welcome to my week #48 of I Like Thursday.  Thank you LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color for encouraging us to find something that we love, like or makes us smile each week.

I like the Hubcap tree at the local antique mall.

I will say it is at least 8 feet tall.  I actually had to pull into the lot to take a picture I thought it was so cool. It makes me smile each time I drive by it.

I made a trip to the Christmas Store in Dundee.  Well to tell the truth I went to the Quilt Patch (Quilt Shop) in Tecumseh, but I stopped at the Christmas store in Dundee on the way home.  I will write more about that another day.

I liked this Santa that met you at the walkway.

I keep looking at it trying to figure out if it is made from something recycled, but I think it was just an artists work.

I loved the Christmas Store's stairway.

The wood work going up the stairs was gorgeous.  I don't know if you can tell how thick it is, but it is impressive.

I liked their garland they put on the stairwell.  What was really neat is they had some fun holly looking picks in there, but it was just the outline of the holly, not the whole leaf.

I have been a wee bit busy finishing up Christmas gifts and even doing a lot of cleaning, so not much to show for the week.  Now head over to LeeAnnas and see the other I Like Thursday posts.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

  1. Hi Colette! Wow, the woodwork on that staircase is impressive, and I'm sure it was even more so in person. I love how they decorated it! I used to do that on our staircase, but now we have a ranch so no stairs. Oh well - I do like being on one level better! That hubcab tree is a hoot! I just love the last picture you shared. Merry Christmas to you as well. I hope you get to celebrate and enjoy. Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. I love it when artists use an unexpected medium. Hubcaps can be festive too!
The garland is so rich and impressive, and the woodwork that isn't being done any more... priceless. Happy week my friend!

  4. At home being a fishing background, they make lobster trap Christmas trees and the communities try to see who can make the biggest one. But hubcabs are good too! And recycling too! Such clever people. Enjoy the countdown...getting serious now.

  10. It's too bad we can't have fun decorations like this all year long. There would be lots more smiles happening!
