I like when a plant I have planted, and fretted that it did not come up suddenly appears a year or two later.
See that little white flower? It is called Lecojum. I purchased the bulbs a couple of years ago and planted. Imagine my delight to see a couple come up and bloom this year.
Jeff's and my favorite ice cream shop has opened for the season. I went and got my first cone of the year of the chocolate/vanilla frozen custard.
I normally shop at the local businesses but I have wandered into Family, Farm and Home a couple of times in the past couple of weeks. I needed oyster shell grit for my chickens and more chick grit, and the local feed store does not carry it. While there I spied this fun bird house.
It looks like it is made from license plates.
I saw this and thought of LeeAnna instantly.
A Flamingo yard light!
My little girls are at that awkward teen stage. They have feathers, but also down and are just funny looking.
Finally I was lucky enough to spy the most recent Deeanna Raybourn-- Veronica Speedwell book and snatched it up from the library.
I am going to be sad when there is no more in this series. Do you get that way when you finish a series you really enjoy?
Now head over to LeeAnna's and check out the other I Like Thursday blogs.
I like that ice cream cone. Man that looks good lol lots of things to like in your post. Cool birdhouse too
ReplyDeleteLove that flamingo light--so funny--and I am with Dawn on that ice cream custard cone--hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh with the teenage chicken comment...even birds go through that stage! That is one big custard cone!
ReplyDeleteOh that ice cream looks so good to me. I always get one at Costco as a treat. I love it too when things in the garden are a surprise. LeeAnna has us all thinking of her when we see flamingoes..just recently I saw a fabric line with them and immediately thought of her.
ReplyDeleteI too love visiting these garden type centers this time of year. They always have such an interesting array of items to look at.
I agree with the others, can't get past the ice cream cone. Now I want one!! So good to see you yesterday!! We are drowning in rain again today, when.will.it.stop?
ReplyDeleteHi Colette! Oh yes, I am sad to finish or catch up on a series!! They become like family or friends at least, and can't wait to read more. That is one HUGE ice cream cone, and it looks delicious. YUM!! Your girls look so sweet, and yay for unexpected flowers. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteYummy ice cream cone and cute birdhouse! I love seeing interesting birdhouses made out of unusual things. I hope teenage chickens are easier to handle than teenage humans!
ReplyDeleteI just wait a while, then re-read the series. I finished re-reading one last month, then started another series. I'll be with it for a while (16+ books).
ReplyDeleteI love the looks of that ice cream cone! It's so nice to see flowers growing. Summer is on the way! My mom used to have chickens when she was a little girl. She's told us stories over the years. I'm always reading something but I'm not familiar with this series. I'll have to look into it. I think I've noticed you over on Dawn's blog. It's nice to see your blog and learn a little about you!
ReplyDeleteI do get sad when I even approach the end of a series... gotta check yours out. The girls are gonna be beauties... fun watching them grow? That icecream made me want some, as well as the flamingo, heh heh. I might have to pause in my reading to go eat some ice cream of my own...
ReplyDeleteEven chicks turn into teens??? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post. That is a serious ice cream cone. And, what a cute bird house!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. mary
Cute chicks! That ice cream is the kind I wear all over my shirt!!! The bird house is wonderful! Have a great week!
