I Like Thursday #69

I bet you wondered what happened last week?  I am the proud temporary owner of an almost 12 year old grand daughter.  Wow it is amazing after just a few short years thinking of caring for another person practically turns me into a quivering mass.  We were working on the 1st few days adjustment last week.  Now we are in a routine and things are going awesome.

Thank you LeeAnna for encouraging us to find things to like during the week.  You can find the other I like Thursday posts at Not Afraid of Color

I like this girl.  She is so sweet, and kind and fun to be around.  This is my grand daughter Aubri.

As you can see Bobbin likes Aubri too.  I have been replaced as a favorite.  Bobbin loves having all the kids around.

Bobbin is so pooped at night she barely hits the bed and she is dead out.

I like these flowers that are in my field.  I thought they were wild roses, but they aren't pink like I am used to, but they do have some crazy thorns.  They almost look like cherry blossoms, and they have this heavenly scent.

I like how as I cleaned and moved things around for company, Lucy decided that the kennel on the couch was a great place to relax.  Hard to see gray cat, gray kennel pad, dark blue couch.

I had to run to the LQS last week, I had received the wrong BOM and I have to turn them in once a month to get the next.  On my way back I stopped at this little junk shop I had been eyeballing for a while.  According to the proprietress it was a hardware store at one time in this tiny town called Britton.

I loved the old tin ceilings, probably with eons worth of lead paint.  LOL

I found a fun little table for my bathroom.

I had a curio cabinet that was the great aunt and uncle's just a sauder furniture, press board, but Samantha needed it so it gave me an excellent reason to find something to hold my doodads, and orchid.  I have some chalk paint to paint it soon.

Oh the things you see as you drive around.  Someone in the village nearby was flocked!

It made me giggle.

As you can see my feathered helpers have decided to excavate.  These girls can move a lot of dirt quickly.

I have visits all day long when I am outside by the orioles, and bluebirds.  There are babies, and they are pretty fearless of me, they will fly within just a couple of feet from me.  They know I won't harm them.

We all went to a pow wow at the nearby college.  The boys decided to join and dance too.

I know I have mentioned that I love my lounger by the pool. So does Bobbin.

Now head over and check out the other I Like Thursday posts!

  2. Good Morning, Colette! Hello, Aubri. Beautiful girl. Bobbin looks very attached. I love to visit my grand darling but I think I would be a quivering mess if I had responsibility for another young human these days. Those yard flamingos always make me smile. They were started by a Massachusetts company when I was very small and quickly took over the lawns in our area and then flew to other fields. Thanks for sharing happy Thursday with me ... :) Pat

  7. Hi Colette! Oh, that lounger by the pool with Bobbin. I can just feel the nice warm sun baking my cold out of me. I can see why Bobbin loves Aubri - naps with a blanket are nice and comfy and warm. And that front yard flocking - how funny was that and of course it makes us think of LeeAnna! ~smile~ Roseanne

  12. I think Aubri will get lots of love at your house! Some of the old buildings in our downtown have ceilings like that - so fascinating to look at. Is that a hole your chickens are digging? I didn't know they did that!

  13. So what an opportunity for you and Aubri to really get to know each other...she'll have memories of you that will last her life. I know cause I would spend several weeks each summer with each grandmother and I loved them and the memories I have carried all my life. Good little Bobbin!
