This is my pile of blocks.
I finally had a chance to start to sew. I decided I was going to get as many HST ready to sew because I want mine to be kind of scrappy within each quadrant.
This is what I have prepped so far. I sew some, then cut my squares in half, then trim. I think I need some more solids so I ordered a black, a color called mango, a green called leaf, and a brown called weathered teak. I hope it gives it lots of variety.
These are the trimmings from the pile above. I am kind of champing at the bit to be able to put a few blocks together. I always marvel at the people who make one quilt at a time. Cutting all of the fabric and then just sewing. I am too impatient I always want to sew. I finally broke down and put together a 1/4 block to see how it looked.
I am kind of loving it. One down I think if I calculated correctly 143 more to go.
loving how these are looking so far. I may have to keep this project in mind for my HST that I have been accumulating. I can trim them to 2 1/2 and make a scrappy one. fun fun
ReplyDeletethe blocks are nice and big so a lap would take about 6 or 24 of those blocks. seems do able
lol says the gal with a million UFOs
yeah I just ordered the loc block rulers from Jenny.
ReplyDeleteenabler.LOL
Gee, only 143 blocks to go? No big deal...LOL! Looking good!
ReplyDeleteWhen making that many blocks, I get bored and have to move on also. With a small quilt I can cut and then sew, though.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the fabrics you chose for your Ocean Waves quilt!
ReplyDeleteIt will be great when you finish. Can't wait
ReplyDeleteLove the colours you are using!
ReplyDeleteThe block looks fabulous. I'm like you - too impatient to wait to construct the blocks.
ReplyDeleteLove your ocean waves--143!! Only? yikes!! Glad you're getting to sew--cutting can be tedious for sure....hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteAlways a bad idea to count how many to go...glad to see a block, nice to see where you are headed!
ReplyDeleteYour block is looking great! I also like to see how a block looks....there are so many ways to speed things up but I tend to go one block at a time so I can see what it looks like! Finally added you to my Bloglovin feed...I kept forgetting and have been missing all your posts! Looking forward to seeing all your progress on all your projects!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Would you mind linking to my post about the QAL.? That way others can play along too 😁
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like your color choices. Hope your weather is not too cold or damp.
