Rocky Mountain National Park

Car travel with a dog is not always easy....especially when it is hot.  While I could not stop and hike, or go into visitor centers, the scenery is magnificent and worth taking the time for the detours.

After leaving our visit with LeeAnna,  I decided to head to Rocky Mountain National Park. We entered through Estes Park, Colorado at the Beaver Meadows Welcome Center.  While there would be no hiking with The Bobbin, we could drive.

The views were awesome.  We could see glaciers.
Cliffs thrusting high into the sky.
Here we were at the ridge line of the Rocky Mountains.
The plateau as we were driving down a very twisty, turny road.
Looking down into a wilderness area.  With a high mountain lake.
Information signs of about the early explorers.
This was the Continental Divide
Along the Colorado River, and to Grand Lake the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.
And the Historic Grand Lake Lodge.
We had entered the park very early, and even with multiple stops for taking pictures and a potty break we were early in the day so we headed toward Vernal, Utah.
