I Like Thursday #45

Welcome to my I Like Thursday #45.  After perusing my list for the week head over to LeeAnna's at Not Afraid of Color to see the other things to like.

This sweater at the grocery store made me laugh.

I think it would qualify as an ugly Christmas Sweater.

There were a few very windy days, and the moment I would open my car door I would have to fight to keep the leaves out.

This leaf stowed away.  Where it was going I don't know, but no hitch hikers, so I tossed it back out the door, and it continued to fling itself back into the car.

I love coffee, and sometimes it is nice to have flavored coffee.  But instead of fighting the little grinder I used to have, I bought a burr grinder.  I love it and how it does different grinds based upon if I use a coffee press, the drip coffee maker, or I could even make espresso.

My coffee flavor this week is Bone Coffee Chocolate Salted Caramel.  I am not too sure if I like it as well as the Highland Grog.  It doesn't seem quite as strong as I like, and is a bit sweeter and smoother.
I like the website Goodreads.  I have been using it for a couple of years.

You can track the books you read, set a challenge for yourself to read XX number of books a year, get recommendations, rate books and even write reviews.  If you link it to a Facebook account, you can see other FB friends who belong to Goodreads and what they are reading.

Now head over to LeeAnna's to check out the other I like posts for the week.

  1. I've never gone to GoodReads--will take a peek.

I love STRONG coffee...we order by the boxful --Organic Rainforest & Gorilla Decaf from San Francisco Co. in the one cup as we use our Keurig one cup maker...we both usually only have 2 cups each morning and find that a whole potful goes to waste...
    so it works for us...
I also love coffee flavor ice cream and yogurts...
    (Food, glorious food!lol)
Hugs from your coffee loving friend Julierose

  2. Hi Colette! I love the Goodreads website, too. It is nice to see what books you've read and how many. Some of mine don't count - I think when I read them with the Nook app instead of the Kindle app. I'll have to see why they don't count sometime. I love coffee, too. I usually get flavored coffee - caramel, vanilla or something similar. Our favorite Boy Scout (great-nephew) was selling wreaths and coffee so of course I ordered some. It's Snickerdoodle flavored, and I can honestly say I do not like it at all. So I'm mixing it with the caramel until it's gone. I'll try a different flavor next year!! Happy Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I love Goodreads as well. I like how it tells the progress of the goals and the books I'm reading. My profile is JeanD, feel free to look me up & add me as a friend on it. Always enjoy seeing what everyone is reading. Flavored coffee is always a bit of gamble. Hope you are having a great day so far!

  4. I like goodreads but don't think I use it to full advantage. I'm not knowledgable about tech. I think the leaf is now yours... it adopted you like a cat does. I like coffee strong, with cream only, and used to like flavors but sometimes they taste man made, know what I mean?
That sweater is hilarious and you know someone proudly bought it and wrapped it and put it under the tree. Imagine doing that for the stealing gifts game groups play!

  5. That sweater is pretty hilarious, and your coffee flavor sounds tasty! I enjoy Goodreads for their book recommendations, but haven't used it to keep track of my books yet. I may have to try that!

  6. That is definitely an ugly Christmas sweater. I've been eyeballing an ugly llama sweater for Christmas this year. :-) Burr grinders are the best! I love Goodreads - I'd be lost without it for tracking my books. Your stowaway leaf was pretty. Good stuff!

  7. It has been windy here as well... I like that idea of tracking the book I read, thanks

  8. Oh thanks for the tip about that site, Goodreads.
I love my morning coffee have to say but stick to the plain and sometimes get a fancy one out and about. Good Grinders are hard to find...sounds like that one is working well for you. It's staying warmer, around zero, but I can't remember when we saw the sun last, which is getting to me a little.

  9. I do like a good cup of black coffee. I tend to drink mine strong. My favorite treat out is a cup of espresso with a brown sugar cube and a strip of lemon peel.

  10. I love goodreads!!! It's the only way i can keep track of whether or not I've read things and the things I want to read. And I feel you about the leaves. I accidentally left the garage door open last week overnight and I came out the next morning and there were great drifts of leaves in the garage piled everywhere! I would have jumped in them except I knew they were covering the mower and other garage detritus....

  12. Yep, ugly sweater contender! I think that leaf had plans for the holidays and was hoping for a lift.
