I love music. I am not a huge fan of rap, but I liked this group. They create music by taking samples especially from the Native American culture. Not for everyone but a techno dance type sound.
I liked this documentary on PBS to celebrate Veterans Day called The Warrior Tradition. My great grandfather served in WWI, my mother still has his helmet and gas mask. It was a very interesting documentary.
I tried to get a picture to show how thick it was, almost an inch.
I like this time of year, at all hours of the night and day you hear tractors running, harvesting corn, or soybeans. While to some people it may seem noisy, I find it soothing.
In nearby field someone got artistic and erected a dinosaur.
We had our first snowfall beginning Monday morning into Tuesday morning. I like how the snow was clinging to the leaves and bushes.
I like the Maple Syrup Mysteries. I hadn't read the series in a couple of years but picked up with book 6 Capital Obsession by Emily James.
Nicole Fitzhenry is lawyer, comes from a family of high powered attorneys in Washington DC, but she leaves all of that to run a Maple Syrup operation left to her by her uncle in Michigan. Book 6 Nicole returns to Washington DC in support of her boyfriend who is looking at a medical research job. Nicole's best friend has stalker, then murder ensues. I like these books they are a "clean read". No curse words, steamy bedroom scenes, or blood and gore.
Now head over to LeeAnna's to explore the other I Like Posts.
Great likes although i can say i am not a "liker" of snow.lol.
ReplyDeleteNope, will not agree to like the snow...waiting for it to melt today. That music clip is interesting, I like the background music but the chant?/yell? part is a bit jarring, eh? I suppose it's meant to be tho. Always good to explore new sounds. Maybe we need a dino for our field, hmmm...
ReplyDeleteI like that ice with leaves look. That was a wet snow, like our last one. The 8th since October... omg. You have the best asst of novels to share. And who knew Dinos still roamed the earth! LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteYour sounds of soybean harvesting during the night reminds me of our trains and their whistles in the distance nighttimes...
ReplyDeletesomehow comforting....Just a light dusting of snow so far here, actually looking forward to seeing snowfall..I love the stark black and white and gray shades of Winter...
Thanks for sharing your likes with us...hugs, Julierose
Hi Colette! We had that same storm on Monday/Tuesday and got about seven inches. I'm already over winter - we've had five snowstorms and it's not even the middle of November yet. I love hearing the sound of tractors in the fields. Fortunately, we still have a few farm fields that aren't under construction around my home. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteColette, I've been complaining about the cold but that ice and snow are much worse than what we got! That book looks interesting. You always seem to find some great books to read!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a hunk of ice, and a pretty snowfall, too! I bet the farmers were working hard to get the harvest in before the snow. I think I'd like to hear the sounds of the farm equipment at work, too!
ReplyDeleteLOL, love the dinosaur. That music is pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteWe have snow here, too and it's not leaving! I am not terrible upset about it, it's just so shocking because it's very early for us.
ReplyDeleteI just loved that photo of your mom with her very special cake and aren't quilters the best! That put a smile on my face which kind of needed it. A gray day with dreary like snow falling steadily letting us know it's here to stay. I was not that excited. Meanwhile, lovely likes. I've attended drumming ceremonies and always felt very moved by the sound...something profound and deep about it. Hope you have a great weekend. Perhaps working on one of those projects.
ReplyDeleteThat dinosaur made me smile; I'll bet it caught a few viewers off guard! I haven't heard of that book series; I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Collette! I wish I had seen that pbs special, I'll have to check to see if it is on our local channels. We have ice now too but I'll take that over snow! Have a wonderful week and stay warm!
ReplyDeleteYay, snow! That's a funny Dino. Thx for the heads up on the book series.
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrr! I’m not very fond of the cold! But I am excited about a new series to check out! Enjoyed the pic of the dinosaur. Totally unexpected, but fun!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your Thursday post....love your pictures...the dinosaur is kinds funny out in the field all by itself.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting post and photos. I am always looking for good reads that are all those things. I have never read this author. I will have to look these up. Thanks ... :) Pat
