November Thankful Day 29

I love being outside.  This November has been unseasonably warm.  Friday, November 24, 2017 we were at 52 degrees.  I worked outside, even though it was windy, and bit chill.

29.  November 29-  I am thankful for nature.  Being outside in the yard.  The birds, bugs, mountains, rivers, lakes, all refresh my soul.

Mt Shasta when we traveled a couple of years ago.

A Giant Redwood.
A geyser at Yellowstone

The frogs which insist on living in my swimming pool.
The Luna moth on the garage.

The ginormous sidewalk bug Finn and I saw one day.

All of it.  Jeff at first could not understand when I said I missed nature, until the end how much nature refreshed my soul.  Being in the mountains, and the trees.  Each of these wondrous creations is more than I can even begin to explain.  Maybe that is why we chose to get married at the falls in the middle of winter.

28. November 28-  My sense of humor.

The parking meters in front of the courthouse.  Mon-Fri 8 AM-5 PM Sundays and holidays excluded....now the last time I checked there was a day in there called Saturday....which we all look forward to each week.  So pay the meter on Saturday?  Or be a scofflaw and don't pay it?

Obviously my grandson's have inherited my sense of humor.

They insisted we had to stop so they could have their picture taken with the pink elephant that was wearing glasses.

27.  November 27-Baking
I can get the boys to eat zucchini with my chocolate chip zucchini bread.
26.  November 26-  I am thankful for Kindness-- whether you do a random act of kindness or someone extends you a kindness recognize it.  They seem to happen less and less.
25.  November 25-  Cell phones, and the ability to call long distance
24. November 24 Quilt designers that share QAL, SAL, and mystery quilts. I am working on the Bonnie Hunter On Ringo Lake mystery quilt.

23.  November 23-  I am thankful for Jeff
Jeff and Gabe wading in the river.  Jeff was awestruck by how clean and clear the rivers were in Oregon, and Northern California.

22.  November 22-  I am thankful for chickens

21.  November 21-  I am thankful for Family

14.  November 14-  I am thankful for my Kindle and all the books that I have the opportunity to read, and the local library.  I can listen to my Kindle while sewing.  I have read over 140 books so far this year.

13.  November 13.  I am thankful for Lucy the cat.

12.  November 12--I am thankful for Bobbin
I was lying on the floor trying to get a picture of her.
We see how well that went.
 Notice everything is a blur?

11.  November 11  I am thankful for my tenacious character to get things done.

10.  November 10--I am thankful for fall.

9.  November 9 I am thankful for saved items.  Maybe I should call them hoarded items.
This is a saved item.  Jeff found it in the corner of a barn all seized up and all the japanning missing.  He got it freed up, sanded it down, and painted it, put new decals on it, and made it gorgeous.

8.  November 8--I am thankful for music.

I will admit that this music speaks to a primitive part of my soul.  Could be that my family surname is Grant?

7.  November 7-- I am thankful for the Boy Scout organization.

6.  November 6--I am thankful that I can shop online.
I bought these recently to finish up a quilt that I have been working on.

5.  November 5--I am thankful that I could get new doors in my home to add more light.

4.  November 4.   I am thankful for coffee.

3.  November 3.  I am thankful for the roof over my head.  I love falling asleep to the rain on the standing seam steel roof which is over 150 years old.

2.  November 2.    I am thankful for the fact my feet hit the floor every morning, whether I want to get out of bed or not.

1.  November 1.  I am thankful for every morning I wake up--too many people don't get to see the light of another day.  Thinks about it how would you act if you knew that today was your last day on Earth?  Today is a gift.  Tomorrow is not promised.

  8. I feel the same way about Nature. I will probably never see what I want to before I die, but I am happy to settle for sitting by the pond watching the birds and fish and counting my frogs.
